So, Trump pardoned Changpeng Zhao, the Binance founder also known as "CZ." Color me shocked. NOT.
Let's be real, this whole thing stinks worse than week-old fish. Former pardon attorney Elizabeth Oyer straight-up called it "corruption," and honestly, it's hard to disagree. I mean, the guy basically admitted to letting Binance be used as a money-laundering hub for terrorists – Al-Qaeda, Hamas, ISIS, the whole charming bunch, according to Oyer. But hey, who cares about a little thing like funding terrorism when there's crypto to be made, right?
And the "best" part? CZ's company reportedly donated software to a Trump-linked crypto venture. Coincidence? Give me a break.
This isn't about justice; it's about scratching backs and lining pockets. Harvard law professor Lawrence Lessig nailed it when he said this whole mess creates "a private form of corruption going on inside of the executive branch." A private form of corruption... sounds kinda fancy, doesn't it? Like it's some exclusive club for the rich and powerful.
And what about the $4.3 billion fine Binance paid? CZ's already joking about getting a refund and investing it "in America." "Haven’t asked yet, I think🙏," he tweeted. Oh, you haven't asked yet? Please. It's like watching a cat play coy with a mouse before pouncing. He knows exactly what he's doing. The pardon is a personal matter, but what about Binance's corporate penalties?
The ICIJ's Coin Laundry report is even more damning. It found that Binance facilitated at least $408 million worth of tether (USDT) transactions for the Huione Group, an organized crime-linked outfit, after CZ pleaded guilty. So, basically, they were still profiting from shady dealings while waiting for Trump to sign on the dotted line. How did this get by the so-called monitors?

Trump claims he doesn't even know CZ. "I don’t believe I've ever met him," he said. Right. And I'm the Queen of England. He also brushed off questions about the whole thing with a classic "You don’t know much about crypto…You fake news." Smooth, Donny, real smooth.
But hey, his sons are "into it," and he thinks crypto is "probably a great industry." So, that makes it all okay, I guess. It's all about the "binance price" and the "binance news" cycle.
And what about Elizabeth Oyer, the former pardon attorney who dared to speak out? She says she was fired for refusing to play ball. Then she gets word that armed U.S. Marshals were being sent to her HOME to deliver a warning letter. Intimidation tactics, anyone? Trump Pardon for Binance CEO Was ‘Corruption’—Former DOJ Pardon Attorney
I swear, sometimes I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Is anyone else seeing this? Or am I the only one who thinks this whole thing is a giant, steaming pile of you-know-what? I mean, what's the point of having laws if they only apply to the little guys? The big shots just get a presidential pardon and a pat on the back. It's all just one big "binance crypto" game to them.
CZ says he'll invest any refund in America. How noble. Maybe he can use some of that money to hire a PR firm to clean up his image. Or maybe he can just buy another pardon if he screws up again.
And what about Binance US? Does anyone even care about that anymore? It's all just a sideshow to the main event: CZ getting away scot-free.
It ain't about justice, folks. It's about power, money, and a whole lotta corruption. And until we start holding these guys accountable, nothing's gonna change. I'm not holding my breath, offcourse.
